The Man Who Walked Around the World – Johnnie Walker

I came across this add for Johnnie Walker over the weekend and I thought it was so good I should pass it on to other members. It’s called ‘The Man Who Walked Around the World.’ It’s quite a good add and I understand its currently showing in movie theatres. I recommend you take the time to have a look. It’s the kind of advertising that I think whisky really benefits from (I’ll admit I know nothing about advertising). It emphasises the history, authentic Scottishness and something of the style of Whisky. I think it’s quite good and I’ve actually tried to convince Mrs Colonel that I should be allowed to buy a bottle of JW Blue.
She is less enthusiastic than I.

  1. I have seen shorter versions of this and some other similar campaigns from JW in the past couple of years at the cinemas and always enjoy them. They certainly put a hell of a lot of money into the campaigns for sure.

It almost makes you want to go and try the JW again but alas for me I have already returned to tasting of the Red and Black and do not find them to my tastes at all. I also found the green muted and unimpressive as I did the gold. I guess that just leaves the Blue.

PS. You mean another Scotsman's effort at whisky promotion is not a benefit:
